Brie began her career in emergency medicine in 1984 as an EMT. She later progressed in her education and became a paramedic. Currently, she is pursuing additional opportunities by attending nursing school.

Her fire service career began in 1984. After starting as a firefighter, she worked her way up to the position of Fire Marshal/Fire Prevention Officer. She has been instructing in the emergency services environment since 1985.

Brie and her husband, Nicholas, have also worked for private ambulance services and have owned three private ambulance services. They have worked for both municipal and private fire departments as well as the USFS.
